With its sweeping boulevards, historic museums and colorful shops, India’s capital city, New Delhi, is a mecca for shoppers. Mehar Chand Market, situated in the heart of New Delhi, is the perfect place to hunt for rare treasures. One of our favorite shopping finds in New Delhi is Crazy Daisy.
This tiny shop has everything from stunning coasters to lovely hand painted lamps. If you’re looking for trinkets you can easily pack into your luggage bag, one of the best compact (and extremely economical) finds at Crazy Daisy are the colorful cosmetic bags from Roberta Roller Rabbit by Roberta Freymann. (Roberta Roller Rabbit is based out of New York, but works with artisan hand block printers in India.) We scooped up an adorable airplane print bag that does a fantastic job corralling loose pens and lipsticks.
As Crazy Daisy likes to say, it carries a “dazzling disarray of stuff for girls of all ages.” There are accessories and jewelry as well as pillow cases and tables.
Whether you’re in the market for shawls or kid’s stuff, Jagriti Chadha and Tito Metge (the co-founders of Crazy Daisy) have curated a fantastic mix of useful eye candy for your closet and your home.
If you’re looking for fashionable boutiques and local shopping in New Delhi’s ancient city, Mehar Chand Market is worth strolling through. With shops like Crazy Daisy offering reasonable prices and unique wares, it’s a wander only your wallet might regret.
