Succulent isn’t typically a word that you associate with Christmas, but Ethel M Chocolates is prickling Old Saint Nick’s holiday.
Throughout the year the chocolatier’s front yard nurtures four acres worth of prickly pears, cacti and other succulents.
During the holidays Ethel M decks the branches of the largest botanical cactus garden in the South West with thousands of twinkling lights.
Admission is free and open to the public.
As you wander past massive inflatables (and briefly ponder how many of them get popped by cacti each year) you’ll get the chance to view over 300 species of plants while you meander the well manicured grounds.
Ethel M is based in Henderson (about a 20 minute drive from the Las Vegas strip). The garden is a fun, easy and accessible way for adults and children to learn a bit more about the native plant life that exists in the American Southwest if you’re on a Vegas vacation.
If staying indoors is more your style, you can also take a self-guided chocolate tour inside Ethel M.
You can watch their elves (I mean, employees) hard at work making magic with chocolate and yummy flavors like dark chocolate eggnog, prickly pear and peanut butter.
There’s also a chocolate wall in case you’re in need of a “sweet” selfie.
