Some mornings you need a jump start which is why folks based in Denver, Colorado are lucky they have Steam Espresso Bar. The easiest way to describe Steam (which opened just over four years ago) is to say that it is a neighborhood gem. Located on South Pearl Street the owner, Hani Yaafouri, turned a cute older neighborhood residence into what is now a bustling caffeine cafe. Yaafouri spent nearly six years working at Starbucks, so he knows his beans.
Steam Espresso Bar gets all of its coffee from local roasters like Boxcar Coffee Roasters. Boxcar, by the way, roasts its coffee on the front range of the Rocky Mountains and is based in Boulder and also has a Denver location.
Travel aficionados (and little people) will love that the back patio at Steam Espresso Bar has a plane fuselage hanging out beside its tables. On the weekends you’ll often find musicians striking all the right chords with locals.
If you’re in the mood for something special, Steam Espresso Bar has a rich TCHO mocha and freshly baked goodies (like croissants and vanilla scones) from Izzio Artisan Bakery. No matter how you decide to espresso yourself, we’re fairly sure you’ll find something tasty that will make waking up just a bit more bearable at Steam Espresso Bar.
