When traveling abroad we love to put ourselves in foreign shoes. From the sleek soles at Atheist Shoes in Berlin to the exclusive designs we tried on at The Cook, His Wife & Her Shoes in Sydney, it’s clear we’ll make a beeline for any city with killer kicks. When it comes to creative high heels that are out of this world, one of our favorite shoe shops on the planet is Irregular Choice in London, England.
We’ve been a fan of the unconventional designs that Dan Sullivan and his team have been cranking out for years.
Sullivan launched Irregular Choice in 1999, and the Carnaby Street store in London’s Soho neighborhood is its flagship location.
It’s clear that Irregular Choice’s shoes march to the beat of their own drum.
Rather than following passing fashion trends, Sullivan’s squad aims to delight with designs that are unlike anything you’ll find in another shoe shop.
Each year Irregular Choice puts out an astonishing 600 styles.
Clearly we love shoes. Curious about some of the other crazy heels and shoe boutiques we’ve discovered around the globe? Here are some of our favorite shoe finds in the world.
Since the company launched almost almost twenty years ago, Irregular Choice has put out 10,000 different shoe designs.
The staff at the flagship store always seem to be willing to go the extra mile and the store is often filled with laughter and giggles.
It’s not uncommon to see longtime fans taking selfies and new customers oohing and aahing over the latest unique shoe.
Irregular Choices’ attempt at global domination has led hundreds of stockists carrying their designs (you can find some of their jewelry and shoes on Modcloth and on other sites like Karmaloop).
In addition to Irregular Choice, here’s a list of other neat little local spots we love across London.
There are six brick and mortar Irregular Choice stores around the world.
One store is located in China and the others are sprinkled across the United Kingdom, but you can also order Irregular Choice shoes online since they ship to most countries around the globe.
Even if you can’t fathom the idea of wearing a pair of shoes that feature hula girls or Sesame Street characters as the high heel portion of the shoe, Irregular Choice is a store worth popping into.
Irregular Choice is the type of cool store that makes you feel like a kid in candy shoe store.
Over the years we’re not at all ashamed to say we’ve become Irregularaholics. We simply can’t pass one of their stores without peeking our head in to see if need to adopt a cute new pair of shoes who needs a home. Whether you have already developed an eccentric style of your own or you just want to spend a moment living vicariously through someone who isn’t afraid to strut in style, a visit to Irregular Choice’s shop in the West End is a must for any shoe lover.
*There are a total of six Irregular Choice stores located across the UK and China.
