The main reason we headed to Orlando, Florida was for a wedding. Hours before we tore up the dance floor with the bride and groom, we hightailed it out of Orlando to nearby Winter Garden for one thing and one thing only. We just had to get our paws on a rainbow s’more from Sugar Rush Marshmallows.

Orlando is filled with delectable bites. There are the scrumptious soft shell crab baos you can munch on at King Bao, the ridiculously good buttermilk garlic biscuit eggs Benedict at Se7en Bites and then there’s the Instagram worthy technicolor tea you have to indulge in at KrungThep. Clearly the “City Beautiful” has a thing for pretty food. If you want a rainbow s’more, there’s only a few places and times you can catch Sugar Rush Marshmallows in action. In our case, it just so happened that their little kiosk was set to be deployed at the Winter Garden Farmers’ Market on the very same day our friends decided to tie the knot. Seeing as how Winter Garden is only about a 30 minute drive from Orlando, we decided to pile in our rental wheels and made a beeline for prismatic glory.

Sugar Rush Marshmallows is the brainchild of Julie Summers and Jean Starnes. Summers and Starnes, who are a couple (you could say they go together like marshmallows and graham crackers), infuse their marshmallows cane sugar syrup instead of corn syrup.

Cane sugar syrup isn’t the only secret sauce the couple injects into its sweet treats. At their booth you’ll find classic and more traditional flavors like chocolate chip, coconut, cookies and cream, vanilla and strawberry. Sugar Rush also offers marshmallows in a dazzling array of off the wall choices like Absinthe, churro or cold brew coffee. Stuffed combinations include the fun rhyming vanilla stuffed with Nutella as well as vanilla marshmallows stuffed with caramel and even a stuffed peanut butter and jelly version. We ended up bringing a bag of the stuffed peanut butter and jelly marshmallows home with us. They’re great fresh, but taste even better when you toast them over an open flame.
Even if you bedizen your fancy wedding gear in sticky goo, my bet is you’ll never regret having made a pit stop at Sugar Rush Marshmallows. We certainly couldn’t wipe the grins off our faces after putting these kaleidoscopic masterpieces in our bellies. Who even needs gold when rainbows taste this good?
